We've been trying to make as much of Ailee's baby food as we can. I bought the book "Superfoods for Babies and Toddlers" a while back. The recipes have been a hit, especially fruity chicken and eat your greens puree. Unfortunately, they are somewhat limited and I've been feeling like we're in a rut lately. I just happened upon the website, weelicious and discovered a treasure trove of easy recipes sorted by age.

Japan does it again

I've seen so many wonderful children's spaces by Japanese designers, like this one. Browsing on ohdeedoh today, I ran across another, by Office Mikko.
Ko Nomoto was designed as a temporary community space for persons of all ages. I know I would love to sit under that beautiful white tree.

The baby swings and bassinets made by german company, Mohr Polster would blend in perfectly with a modern home. Both are made from luxurious wool felt in beautiful colors. While the products are German made, Mohr Polster does ship internationally.

Yakkay Bike Helmets

I love the idea of commuting on a bicycle--seeing the city in a new way, getting around quicker, and not having to worry about parking. So I was thrilled when I saw these yakkey bike helmets on design mom. Choose the helmet size that fits you best and then-the fun part- chose between four stylish covers named for the city that inspired them. I'm now looking even more forward to the kiddo being old enough to ride around town on the back of a bike.

Eames Elephants for Everybody!

How's that for a headline? In order to make this wonderful children's design more accessible, Vitra has released a polypropylene version of the Eames elephant. Available in five colours (red, ice-grey, white, dark lime and bright pink), the plastic version will allow parents to let their kids loose to enjoy a timeless classic.

Floorplay and Floorscape

Samantha Parsons, of I am Samantha, is the creator of floorplay and floorscape floorscape, wonderful floor systems that offer a sexy alternative to foam playmats. A series of squares (Floorplay) or triangles (Floorscape) combines with slits and creases allow these mats to be folded to create headrests, cubes, tunnels, forts and more. They are made of upholstered felt on one side and durable PVC on the other, making them a viable option for inside or out.

Grand Chair

Jelt Vangeest created this rocker to celebrate the bond between grandparents and grandkids. The seat fits two adults and one child. The child seats swivels so the kiddo can sit next to or facing his/her grandparents.

Very Small Architecture

Exquisite craftsmanship is evident in this lovely playhouse designed by Japanese architect, Kazuya Morita. Fiber-reinforced concrete was applied to a mold in an extremely thin layer, mirroring the exact proportions of a hen's eggshell. Though it is eggshell thin, this concrete structure is strong enough for an adult to stand on. The resulting space is intimate and peaceful, an ideal escape for big and little people alike.
